Roysdon Model Four

THE VOICE OF TIME.

For most of history, knowing the time in darkness required something extraordinary. The watch had to speak. Model Four continues one of mechanical watchmaking's most demanding traditions: the repeating watch. Press the mechanism and stored energy is released through a sequence of racks, snails, levers, hammers and gongs. The watch does not merely display the time. It tells you.

880 HOURS

Approximately 110 eight-hour working days. For one watch. The most precious material in Model Four is not gold.

THE VOICE OF TIME

Long before illuminated screens made time visible in darkness, watchmakers found another answer. They taught a watch to speak. The in-house movement in the Model Four, inspired by the 1880’s Déposé minute repeater, continues that tradition. Press the mechanism and the watch converts stored mechanical energy into sound… hours and minutes expressed through hammer, gong, rack, snail and spring.

A repeating watch turns time into sound. Making one turns time into something else. 880 hours of a watchmaker's life become a machine small enough to hold in one hand.
