WHERE IT BEGAN. The watch that changed the course of a life.
Every watchmaker eventually makes a first watch. Model One is the moment Paul Roysdon crossed the line between understanding watches and becoming responsible for every decision inside one. It began with a question: Could one person learn the whole watch? The answer would require far more than designing a movement. It would require machining, metallurgy, metrology, guilloché, finishing, case making, hand making, leather-working… and the invention of tools when the necessary tools did not exist. Model One therefore marks more than the beginning of a collection. It marks the beginning of another education.
The very first Roysdon watch, after 21 prototypes, 1440 hours of labor, 95% made in-house (wheels, pinions, screws, levers, springs, mainplate, bridges, dial, hands, case, leather band, buckle and spring bars), and zero prior watchmaking experience.

That number describes only the making of the watch. It does not include the years required to learn how.
FINISHED TO BE SEEN
The in-house Model One movement, inspired by the Hamilton 945, is where Paul's watchmaking language first took form.
The architecture is deliberately open, allowing the wheels, bridges and the balance to remain visible while creating depth through contrasting surfaces and materials. Rhodium, 24k gold and polished steel move through the movement as light moves across the dial.
Every surface is considered. Bridges and wheels receive mirror-polished anglage, recessed areas are finished with pearlage, and the broad upper surfaces of the bridges receive a distinctive specular texture created using crushed-ruby media. These finishes add nothing to the movement's ability to keep time. They add something equally important to a Roysdon Watch: evidence of the hands that made it.
